As I grow as a photographer and look to seasoned artists in the industry for inspiration, I find myself continually drawn to one question: what defines luxury in the wedding space?
The wedding industry itself is vast, widely experienced, and deeply personal. The luxury wedding world exists on an entirely different plane. It feels elevated, curated, almost untouchable at times. Publications like Vogue have taken something universally experienced (love, commitment, celebration) and transformed it into something aspirational and artful. What actually sets these weddings apart? Perhaps the question so many brides quietly wonder: Do you have to be famous to have a wedding that feels “magazine-worthy?”
Luxury to me is simple. It’s not about how much you can add. It’s about how intentionally you can refine. Chic is simple. Elegance is simple. It’s the quiet confidence of a moment that doesn’t need to try too hard.
Yes, extravagant florals, custom installations, and layered details are breathtaking (and absolutely have their place), but decor alone does not create luxury. In fact, beautiful design is more accessible than ever. With inspiration, creativity, and a little online shopping, anyone can make something visually stunning on a modest budget. What money can’t buy is the experience.
There is a feeling to a luxury wedding that goes beyond what you see. It’s the way a bride moves through her day unrushed, present, ethereal. It’s the way guests are welcomed – not just hosted, but considered. It’s the way moments unfold naturally, without force. You can’t purchase that kind of atmosphere. You can’t buy authenticity. You can’t replicate presence. Most importantly, you don’t need status or wealth to create it.
So… How do we make a wedding feel “Vogue?”
This is where my role as a photographer becomes so meaningful. Because creating something “magazine-worthy” isn’t about recreating someone else’s wedding. It’s about elevating your own.
There has been a shift in the luxury space. Both photographers and couples are moving away from perfection in the traditional sense – away from overly structured posing and into something more candid, carefree, alive. Emotions are bigger, smiles are larger, connection is deeper. And the photos? They feel brighter – not because of editing or color, but because of emotion.
A perfectly composed image is beautiful, but a perfectly felt moment is unforgettable.
I think one of the biggest misconceptions is that luxury is reserved for a certain tier of weddings. What if luxury wasn’t about cost but about feeling? A quiet morning with your closest people, thoughtful details that make your guests feel loved, the wind catching your veil at just the right time. These are the moments that make a wedding feel luxurious. These are the moments that belong in a magazine.
As I continue to grow, my goal is not simply to document a wedding – but to translate it into something timeless and true. Something that feels like art. I want my clients to look at their photos and feel like they’re stepping into the pages of a magazine… not because their wedding looked like someone else’s, but because it was uniquely theirs, captured with intention and care.
Luxury isn’t reserved. It’s revealed through presence, perspective, and the way your story is experienced. Let’s turn your story into something worth printing!
With love,
Elizabeth Ann
