God’s Provision

God’s provision is powerful. His hands are over our lives in ways we may never fully understand. The Lord is our shepherd – He leads us, He sustains us, He provides for us.

As a new business owner, I’ve had to learn what it truly means to trust God as Provider. Not just in theory, but in practice – in uncertainty, through surrender. It’s easy to be blinded by what we can see and miss what God is doing beneath the surface. He is moving. His provision is real, active, and alive.

My response to God’s provision is praise and purpose. Praising Him for what He’s done and walking in the purpose He has given me.

Over the past few weeks, I’ve been sitting with this idea of provision. Praying and trying to quiet my mind enough to listen. Listening in itself, is a discipline and a muscle I’m learning to strengthen daily. Oftentimes God’s voice isn’t loud or obvious. Sometimes it comes through Scripture, through a sermon, through the words of someone rooted in Him.

As no coincidence, the story of Peter keeps surfacing. This month four separate times, in different ways, I’ve been brought back to the moment Jesus called Peter to follow Him. Peter was called as one of Jesus’ disciples in a time of debt and despair. Peter was exhausted after a long and unsuccessful night of fishing. He was frustrated, tired, and discouraged. Jesus knew how Peter was feeling but also knew He wanted to call Peter deeper. Jesus asked Peter to throw in the net one more time. Peter hesitantly obeyed and then pulled up nets overflowing with fish. Jesus provided abundance for Peter in a time of lack. Jesus understood the cost of the calling – to leave behind security, money, and the life he knew. Before asking for Peter’s “yes,” He revealed His provision.

We serve a God who provides, sees, and knows exactly what we need for where He’s leading us.

Similar to Peter, I’ve felt an invitation to go deeper with God in my business. God is asking me to release fear around finances and the pressure to “make it” on my own. It’s easy to believe the lies that this career path isn’t sustainable, that creativity can’t provide, that I need to strive harder to secure my future. The truth is simple but sometimes hard to hear: God gives us our daily bread… not enough for ten years but enough for today.

Photography for me is more than a career. It’s a calling. Photography is a way God has invited me into His work – storytelling that reflects His goodness, His beauty, His presence. As I loosen my grip on control and make space for Him to move, everything shifts. What once felt like striving begins to feel like flow. My work stops feeling like something I have to protect and prove. My gifts start becoming something that moves, gives, overflows – a river, not a reservoir.

When we give God our “yes,” He meets us with His abundance. When we surrender, peace replaces pressure. No longer are we working for this broken world, we are working with the Creator. I choose to be thankful that the Creator called me to create in partnership with Him!

God’s provision in my business feels like Jesus blessing Peter with abundance to prepare him for what was to come. This is my imperfect declaration to wholeheartedly trust God as Provider in my business and follow faithfully wherever He leads By Elizabeth Ann. May I not measure His provision by what’s in my hands – but by the peace in my heart and purpose in my steps. May I steward God’s beautiful gifts with grace and leave a trail of His Heavenly aroma.
