Rooted in the Natural

When I think of what I want By Elizabeth Ann to be, natural is the first word to come to mind. Natural in all the ways. Showcasing natural beauty – beauty in God’s creation of nature and love. Above all, natural is how I want my clients to feel. From inquiry to gallery delivery, I want the process to feel meant to be. Finding me organically (whether it be social media, word of mouth, etc.), dreaming and planning together, the session or wedding day, gallery delivery – I pray I carry a calming, flowing presence. A fragrance of warmth, peace, creativity, professionalism, and authenticity.

I’ve always preferred leaning into the natural, in how I present myself, feed myself, and spend my time. My photography business is no different, just an extension of who I already am. In a rapidly growing world full of new technology and AI advancements, I hope to remain rooted in the natural.

May my website feel like home, emails feel handwritten, interactions feel joyful, and photos feel like time capsules. In my editing (as you can probably tell by now) I have a congruent natural approach. I keep the integrity of colors with slight tweaks to help photographs live up to their full potential. Playing with film has been extra fun lately, as it has challenged the way I see color and led me to refine (and redefine, in a way) my definition of natural. Sometimes the tones of film aren’t exactly what I saw in person (which is how I always aim to edit my digital files), but natural in their own nostalgic way.

As I continue to photograph around the world, capturing different scenes and preserving moments, my prayer is to always be rooted in the natural.

The photos below are from a session in Jackson, Wyoming – a perfect example of rooting By Elizabeth Ann in the natural. The couple found me on social media, inquired, and our dates happened to line up within a busy season. My husband and I made a weekend camping trip to the Tetons out of it (as we always look for an excuse to get in the mountains lol). The shoot itself flowed freely as well. J and T’s love was easy to capture, their presence was simply sweet. They smiled, laughed, and danced in front of the Grand Tetons. We connected as friends too – talking for almost an hour after the shoot was over! Exchanging life stories and even fly fishing flies, it felt like we were meant to meet like this – an August afternoon in Wyoming.

I, of course, carried my natural approach into how I edited the gallery – soft blues, rich greens, and tones that felt as majestic as the mountains themselves, giving J & T a gallery that helps them relive their trip out west. Playing a part in preserving lovely moments makes my heart sing! May I continue to be rooted in the natural, everywhere life takes me.

With love,
Elizabeth Ann
