When the last song has played, guests have gone home, and you wake up the next morning as a married couple, the wedding day becomes a memory. Eventually a lot of the physical items that made up the day become just a memory too — the flowers wilt, the cake is eaten, the dress gets tucked away. The little details slowly become just a part of the story you tell about your wedding day, but photographs let you return to it.
Photos hold the things you might otherwise forget — the way your dad looked at you before you walked down the aisle, the tears on your spouse’s cheeks, the way your friends danced at the reception, the quiet moment you shared together when no one else was watching. That’s what I love about photographs as keepsakes. They don’t just remind you what your wedding looked like, but they help you remember what it felt like.
As someone who has been a bride myself, I’ve experienced this firsthand. Looking through our wedding photos brings me back to moments I didn’t even realize I had forgotten. A photograph can hold an entire feeling long after the moment itself has passed.
The best part is that your photographs can become more than keepsakes. They can become heirlooms. Something you look through with your children and pass down for generations. A visual record of the people you loved, the place you were, and the beginning of your marriage.
That’s why choosing your photographer is about more than finding someone whose editing you like. You’re choosing the person who will help frame the story you’ll cherish forever. I believe the best photographers are the ones that you can trust with heirlooms — the ones that authentically preserve without losing essence or heart. That’s what I am for my couples.
I don’t want to give just a gallery of beautiful photographs, but a collection of keepsakes that grows more meaningful with time. My prayer is that years from now, you’ll open your gallery and find –
